Dave Ekskog has led the Kimberley Pipe Band through many a JulyFest Parade, and he will be at the front of the band this Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.

But it will be a bittersweet march as Dave will formally retire as Pipe Major  after 38 years when the parade ends.

The Kimberley Chamber of Commerce is honouring Dave by naming him as Parade Marshall for the 2014 JulyFest Parade.

People lining the parade route are asked to give Pipe Major Dave Ekskog a cheer as he leads the Pipe Band by, in honour of his years of service.

Parade goers are also reminded to bring along non-perishable food donations for the Kimberley Food Bank, who will have volunteers walking the route to pick them up.

Bandmate Liela Cooper has written a story on Ekskog's years with the band.
