A 16-year-old youth was arrested after police seized a large amount of cash and suspected drugs were seized on Wednesday, March 13, according to Cranbrook RCMP.

In a news release, police say the Cranbrook RCMP’s Enhanced Response Unit seized $13,000 in cash and 30 ounces of cocaine, fentanyl and meth — with an estimated street value of $50,000 — during the execution of a search warrant in the 900 block of Cranbrook St. N.

Cranbrook RCMP was assisted by the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, who took the lone youth — who is not a resident of the local area — into custody on scene.

Police say they will be recommending charges to the B.C. Prosecution Service.
