It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Arthur "Ted" Edward Richardson on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 95 years.
Ted was born in Rossland, B.C. but spent his entire life living in Kimberley, B.C. He was a pipe fitter with Cominco for 40 years. Ted and Vi loved to spend time camping, berry picking and square dancing. They also loved to snowshoe, go floor curling and were avid cross-country skiers. In the summer Ted devoted many hours to his garden and yard but his greatest enjoyment was building and fixing things in his basement workshop. In his early years he served in the Navy and was posted on both coasts. He also was very active in the boy scouts for many years.
Ted is survived by his son Doug (Jean) Richardson and his daughter Pam (John) Kent as well as three grandchildren, Derek (Varsha) Kent, Alex Kent, Amanda Robertson and great-granddaughter Sam Robertson. He is also survived by his nephews Gerry (Carol) Richardson, Bill (Julie) Richardson, Dennis (Marilyn) Richardson, Olive Anderson, niece Cindy Hanson, sisters-in-law Ruby Wocknitz and Irene Lapin and all their children along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Violet, his parents John and Bertha, brother Bill, sister-in-law Helen, sister Mary and nephew Rod Richardson. He is also predeceased by brothers-in-law Bert Wocknitz, Doug McKee, Raymond McKee and sister-in-law Nora McKee.
Memories and condolences shared at www.markmemorial.com. If you wish, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
As requested by Ted, there will not be a funeral service. A celebration of life will take place in Kimberley in the spring time.
Ted will be missed by all.
