On Monday, February 4, 2019 Barbara Lorraine Abbey passed away peacefully at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital at the age of 80 years. Lorraine was born on April 12, 1938 in Creston, BC.
Lorraine was an LPN at the St. Eugene Hospital and Extended Care for 38 years. She was a member of the F.O.E. Ladies for 60 years and was also part of the Caregivers and Old Fossils Group.
Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband, Walter as well as her children; Wendy (Lowell) Skjonsby, Judy (Bruce) Mace, and Don (Tania) Abbey. Also left behind are six grandchildren; Jason, Lindsay, Tommy, Kevin, Jordan and Jenna, her 8 beloved great grandchildren and one fur baby, Lily. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Fritz and Beryl Molander as well as her daughter, Jacqueline Ann Abbey.
A Celebration of Lorraine's Life was held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Eagles Hall. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Lorraine's memory to the SPCA, Ginger's Legacy or Cranbrook & District Search and Rescue.
