April 9, 1939 - July 17, 2018
The family of Barry Holden of Ta Ta Creek, BC, is sad to announce his passing on July 17, 2018.

Barry was born in Cranbrook to the late Marshall and Laura Holden on April 9th, 1939. The family moved several times while Barry was growing up living in many places such as Canal Flats, Creston, Rocky Mountain House and Edmonton before returning to Kimberley. This is where he met and married Cherrill Sanderson in 1961. Barry was hired on as a carpenter at the Pulp Mill at Skookumchuck.

Barry and Cherrill then moved their family to first Wasa then Ta Ta Creek for a closer commute to work. Barry loved working with wood and could make just about anything from it. He belonged to the Wasa Lions Club for many years and was instrumental in the starting of the Wasa Trap Club. Barry enjoyed all things outdoors including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and after retirement, gardening. He was famous with family and friends for the tomatoes he grew in his green house.

Barry is survived by his daughter Rae Tutor (Robin Frerotte), son Danny Holden, grandchildren Kimberley (Scott) Eklund, Laura (Justin) Greffard, Trent (Ivy) Tutor and Katey Holden and great grandchildren Liam Eklund, Jenae and Shae-Lynn Greffard.

Barry was predeceased by Cherrill, his wife of 54 years, in-laws Lloyd and Cherry Sanderson, son-in-law Lyle Tutor, sister Mae Vold and brothers Jim and Fred Holden.

A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barry's memory to the Wasa Memorial Garden, c/o Wasa & District Historical Association, PO Box 183, Wasa, BC, V0B 2K0.
