Bodil Kristianne "Kris" Sandberg (Nee FlatHaug)

December 16, 1927 - January 18, 2020
Much loved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away at Cranbrook Hospital on January 18, 2020.
A courageous, warm woman. She was born in Norway, on December 16, 1927. She lived there until she was evacuated to the U.K. during WWII. She attended school in Drumtochty Castle near Aberdeen, Scotland. She then worked in London until the end of the war.
She met Thor Martin Sandberg who she later married. They then moved to Canada in 1953.
Kris was predeceased by her parents, her husband Thor and her son, Thor as well as three brothers, Steinar, Per, Arne and one sister Gunn.
She is survived by her son, Jorn, her grandchildren Penny Hutchison (Shawn), Debbie Bohmisch (Mathias), Kris Mirva (Craig) and Katherine Sandberg (Jesse). She had six great grandchildren; Erin, Taylor, Paige, Shawn, Ireland and Thor. She is also survived by her sister, Inger Ohberg and her niece, Carol Mellor (Jay) and family and her daughter in law, Donna Sandberg.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22 at 2 pm at Kimberly United Church.
