January 18, 1938 - May 17, 2025

Chuck was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

He survived by his first wife Jan and their 2 sons; Charles (Chuck Jr) of Nanaimo, Scott (Patti) of Kimberley and Granddaughter Kassandra of Port Alberni. He also leaves behind Irene, his wife for the last 30 years and his best buddy for the last 18 years, Snoopy (canine). He is predeceased by his parents William (Bill) and Camilla Passmore. Chuck was their only child. He left home at an early age to make his own way in the world.

He started his hockey career playing junior hockey for the Estavan Bruins under Scotty Bowman. Went on to play semi pro hockey in California. In 1963, with a young family in tow he came to Kimberley to play with Dynamiters in the WIHL. Kimberley was where Chuck put down roots. Hockey in the Winter and golf in the Summer. Chuck followed his entrepreneurial spirt and was involved in many different endeavours. During his time in Kimberley he gave back to hockey through coaching rep teams and the local Jr. team. He also mentored many young Jr. Golfers. During these years he was also giving back to the community with his work with Rotary Club, Elks Club and the Chamber of Commerce.

In 1989 he made his move to Kelowna and worked in marketing and sales, while working renovating houses and handyman services. He general contracted the construction of 3 homes with his wife Irene. His love of golf drew him into the world of golf course maintenance. Starting at Shannon Lakes, moved onto Black Mountain and finally Michaelbrook, where he worked until 2024 at age 86. This was two years after being diagnosed with cancer.

Chuck lived life to the fullest. Through work and his love of sports and politics he made many great friendships. He loved to tell stories and bad jokes, tease and have fun with his friends. Beers with buddies and gambling on the golf course were two of his happiest places.

We would like to thank the staff at the Kelowna Cancer Clinic and Dr Parsons for their care and kindness they showed throughout his battle. Chuck put up a good fight. Much thanks to the staff of Hospice House for their care and kindness, making his last days comfortable. Special thanks to Barry and Dave who were there for him through the good and bad days of his struggle. You will be missed. " Your memory is a keepsake, with them we'll never part, God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts"

Chuck's celebration of life will be held at the Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna on July 25th, 2025 from 2 - 4 PM.
