July 5, 1930 - February 22, 2021
On February 22, 2021, Horst Massar passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Kimberley Special Care Home "The Pines."
Horst was born July 5th, 1930 in Ludwigshafenam-Rhein-Oppau, Germany. He immigrated to Canada in 1960 and settled in Georgetown, where he worked at American Motors and raised his family.
During a visit to B.C., he fell in love with Kimberley and decided to make the move out west. It was a great place to enjoy his favourite pastimes, skiing, swimming, and dancing.
Horst will be missed by his children, daughter Helga (Howard) Logan, sons Ralf (Lynn) and Mark (Karin), his grandchildren; Brandon, Heather, Renee, Jackie, Daniel, Abbey, Patrick, Justin, Alex, Leah and Jake and great granddaughter Harper.
Also, fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Ella Reisen of Oakville, Ontario and six siblings and their families in Germany.
He is predeceased by his wife Edith (2000) and companion Elsie Hume (2017).
A very special thank you to the Kimberley Special Care Home "The Pines" for their kindness, dedication and excellent care of our father during his stay.
