In Loving Memory (1939-2023) ~
Born in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, England, Jean was one of five children born to William Welch and Ann Welch (nee Picton). Jean passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023 at Kin Village Care Home in Tsawwassen.
Jean was predeceased by her siblings William and Raymond and her husband Keith.
She is survived by brothers Michael and David; children Paul (Sharon), Philip (Hilary), Neil (Cathy), Andrew (Dawn) and David (Lyndal); grandchildren Jesse (Estelita), Amanda (Denton), Anneleis (Adam), Kendra, Colin, Kristofer, Owen and Ella; and great-grandson Felix.
Jean was born and raised in North London, England and following school was educated at business college, beginning secretarial work in various council agencies in the UK. Migrating to Canada in the 1960s, Jean lived and raised her family in numerous locations across Canada including Quebec, the North West Territories and British Columbia. In the mid-1980s, Jean joined Kerrisdale law firm Munro & Crawford, fulfilling her ambition to return to paralegal work.
With her husband Keith, Jean retired to Tsawwassen, British Columbia, enjoying travel to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia and the UK. With a love of music and the arts, Jean enjoyed playing piano and supporting her family in their pursuits and hosting large family dinners.
Funeral Service to be held at Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta, B.C. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 9.30 am. Reception to immediately follow. Private family interment at Boundary Bay Cemetery to follow.
