It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret announces her passing on November 6, 2022.
Margaret Power was born in the hometown of Raceview, Ballymena, County Antrim, N. Ireland.
One of triplets, two survived, Margaret and her sister Jeannie, they had an older brother Ernie.
Margaret (Trixie) joined the Women's Royal Air Force at the age of 21. She chose to be trained in packing parachutes for the Lancaster Bombers at St. Evans and Cornwall, England and was stationed at the Alder Base, in Aldergrove, Ireland.
After the Air Force Margaret was hired on as a Children's Nurse for a prominent government family caring for and teaching a young girl named Pamela who had special needs. Mom's heart and love for children shone through not only in this position but also with the raising of her own 4 children.
Margaret and her best friend Clare made the decision to move to Canada in 1952. It took a lot of courage to leave their family, friends, and homeland to start a new life in another country so far away. They sailed on the Empress of France.
Mom got hired at Eaton's in Toronto, Ontario, responsible for all the British Ledger Accounts for Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales.
Margaret met her future Scottish Hubby Peter at the Braemor Club. Married in 1954. Between 1956 and 1965 gave birth to 3 girls and 1 boy in Ontario.
The family moved across the country to Cranbrook, B.C. in 1972. Margaret and Peter were married for 45 years and lived in Cranbrook for 27 years. Peter passed in 1999. Margaret's beloved son Roy passed on November 22, 2021.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Janette, Rosemary, and Cindy, sons-in-law: Steven, Erik, Dickson, grandsons: George and Riky, and granddaughter Morgan also nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ireland, Scotland and New Zealand.
Margaret was residing in Milton, Ontario with her daughter Cindy and her husband Dickson.
Mom passed away while visiting in Sundre, Alberta surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret, our Mom was a Strong, Patient, Caring, Kind Hearted Lady who will be dearly missed.
