In loving memory of Peter Ronald Dueck who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family under the care of the medical staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Peter was a fiercely loyal, loving man who dedicated his life to service. No matter the task at hand he would say, 'the reward is inherent to the effort'.

Pete was an old west coast logger who loved a good challenge and satisfied his curiosity for life through hard work, adventure and a pursuit of knowledge.

He owned over 100 years of National Geographic magazines and he could recant stories from any one at any time. His only passion greater than history and family was that for Jesus. He started his journey with Christ in 1980 and leveraged the lessons from the bible to be a better man, dedicated husband, engaged father and philanthropist. The old man literally gave the shirt off his back.

Dad was a man of few words, a master gardener, a father and grandfather and will be missed by more than he will know.

Peter is survived by his wife of 50 years, Victoria Ann; his daughter, Jolene Susan (Des), his son Joshua Peter (Lacey) and his many grandchildren whom he cherished with all his heart.

He would often say there is one undeniable force in this life and that is love; we can achieve this through service or as he liked to say; 'we must take responsibility before privilege'.

Peter was greeted in heaven by his daughter (Rachelle Anna) and many of his beloved brothers and sisters who no doubt were rejoicing upon his arrival.

There will be a Celebration of Life and Love for Peter on May 4th at the Pleasant Valley Church in Vernon, BC at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers Peters wishes were that donations would be made to the Joyful Living Joyful Giving Foundation.

"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh, blessed be the name of the Lord."
