Dick Ingstrup, beloved husband of Shirley, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the age of 82 years.
Dick was born in Kimberley, BC, on December 23, 1937 and was married to his life time partner, Shirley, in 1958. He was always proud of growing up in the small village of Chapman Camp (a small village adjacent to Kimberley), now part of Kimberley proper.
After a thirty-three year career with the Alberta Government Telephones and Telus, Dick retired in Calgary staying close to his three children and eight grandchildren.
Dick, VE6YV, was an avid radio operator and member of the Ham Radio community in Calgary for many years. He and Shirley enjoyed travelling in their camper throughout Canada and the US, and they enjoyed visits to Scotland and Denmark to visit their ancestry.
Besides his loving wife Shirley, Dick is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Andrea, David and Anne, Murray and Ingrid. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren, Meghan, Alexander, Christopher, Connor, Aidan, Michael, Samuel, and Arlo. Dick is also survived by his sister Vera Hille from Prince George, B.C., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Dick was predeceased by his brother Gerry Ingstrup formerly of Kimberley, B.C.
