Bob Plant passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22nd at the Kimberley Special Care Home. Bob was born in Kimberley, raised there and attended school.
He worked at Cominco for 38 years, as a machinist. In 1963 Bob married Jackie Beaumont in Calgary; they raised their children in Kimberley.
In 1987, while mountain biking with his friend, Bob survived a grizzly bear attack near the watershed by Mark Creek. He was also a devoted member of the Kimberley Lions Club for many years.
Bob was predeceased by his parents Ned and Jessie Plant and 2 aunts Blanche and Hilda. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie, 2 sons Michael (Marnie) and Keith, 3 granddaughters Kendall (Corban) Townsend, Jocelyn Plant and Natasha Plant, 2 brothers Roy (Bertha) and Jerry (Gene-Anne) , 1 sister Gloria (Walter) Kazda, 1 aunt Laura, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Bob will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2018 at McPherson Funeral Home in Kimberley. Donations may be made to: The Pines Memorial and Development Society C/O Beverley Banks, 372 - 108th Avenue, Kimberley, BC, V1A 1C6.
