Lovingly Remembered Rose Marie Bodnaryk.
It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Marie “Snooks” Bodnaryk (Poulsen), beloved wife of Ed Bodnaryk, of Calgary, AB. Marie passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the age of 74 years at the Rocky View General Hospital in Calgary, AB after a long struggle.
Marie enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and all her family and friends, whether it was over holidays or just a drop-by visit. Later in life, Marie developed a passion for baseball both watching her grandkids and the MLB. Her true passion was her grandkids, making sure she supported them in everything they did and to be involved in their lives to have a positive impact. Marie enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and reading, and had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed winters in Arizona and spent time traveling to several places around the world, but enjoyed coming home the most to be around family.
She will be most remembered for the love Marie gave her family and her kindness to others. Marie will be greatly missed but will be remembered forever in our hearts. Marie has asked to be cremated and will be laid to rest in British Columbia in the Summer of 2020.
Marie is survived by her husband, Ed Bodnaryk; children, Steven (Carrie), Richard (Trish) and Kathy; and all her grandkids, Jackson, Grace, Tyler, Morgan, Cameron, Cheryl and Mitchell. Marie is also survived by three brothers, Roger (Vicki) Poulsen, Gary (Connie) Higgins and Bob (Grace) Young; one sister Karen (Richard) Peter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
In living memory of Marie Bodnaryk, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by Mcinnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB, T2X 3J3, Telephone: 403-256-9575 .
