Ruth (Faleide) Anderson, 86, formerly of Maddock, ND passed away February 13, 2018 at Cranbrook, BC. A prayer service will be held in Cranbrook and a Memorial service and burial will be held in the spring at Viking Lutheran Church, rural Maddock, ND. Memorials in Ruth's name are preferred to the Viking Lutheran Church, C/O Erling Faleide, 5341 29th ST NE, Maddock, ND 58348.

Ruth was born April 26, 1931, at Melfort, Sask, to Oscar and Effie Heskin. She attended Gransburg Country School, rural Norquay. She was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Norquay. In her early years she worked as a seamstress in Manitoba. In 1953, she married Sam Faleide and together they farmed near Maddock, ND. She was a lifelong member of Viking Lutheran Church, Viking Ladies Aid, South Viking Homemakers Club, Sons of Norway and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved living in North Dakota and enjoyed being a part of the Viking Community.

In 1955, they lost their firstborn son, Lowell, in a car accident. Ruth and Sam then spent 4 years owning and operating the Highway 40 Motel in Reno, NV, returning to Maddock to farm. In 1978 they lost their son, Calvin, and friend, Johnny Gilbertson, in a car accident. Sam died in 1984. Ruth later married Tyler Larson and together they owned and operated the C & R Motel in Rugby, ND. After Tyler died, Ruth married Reverend Bob Wallin and lived in Fergus Falls, MN. After Bob died, she returned to Maddock. In 2012, she married her childhood friend, Laurie Anderson, and moved to Cranbrook, BC.

Ruth loved life on the farm and enjoyed working alongside her family to get the crops planted in the spring and harvested in the fall. She especially enjoyed operating the John Deere Combine. Ruth had many hobbies and

interests including traveling, baking, sewing, quilting, crafts of all kinds, gardening, painting and doll making. She treasured her family and many friends.

Ruth was blessed to have found new love at age 80. She lived the last seven years of her life enjoying love and companionship with her husband, Laurie Anderson, splitting their time between North Dakota and Canada. 'She is survived by her husband, Laurie Anderson, daughters Celia (Bob) Johnson and Cathy Faleide, and grandchildren Katie and Emily Johnson and Sam Claeys, siblings Doris (Ron) Croft and Clayton Heskin, Sisterin- law Genoveve Erickson, step-son Les (Linda) Anderson and step-daughter, Fern Harker (friend, Jerry Midan), as well as step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Lester, Ronald and Donald Heskin, sons Lowell and Calvin Faleide, and husbands Sam, Tyler and Bob.
