December 8, 1984 - September 24, 2018
Tyler James Dixon was born on December 8, 1984 and passed away on September 24, 2018 at the age of 33. He will be forever remembered by his broad family, and countless friends that he touched along the way.

Tyler spent his childhood in Burnaby and moved to Grand Forks as a teenager. He loved both the splendours of rural life and the thrill of the city, and eventually settled back in Vancouver. In his late 20s he briefly left for Calgary, and for Montreal, and after seeing our country was drawn back to the west coast once again.

Once back, his lifelong enthusiasm for learning led him to enroll in college at Langara, and then at Simon Fraser University, where he was thriving in his study of sociology and anthropology.

Tyler's deep passion for learning was for him a natural approach; he poured his heart into everything. He loved strongly, shared selflessly, and always fought for what he believed in. He was a prolific writer and his poetic works will live on to provide a glimpse into the depth of his spirit; one with both a beauty and a passion that are too rarely encountered.

He found an outlet through his pen, and his love for reading, for music, skateboarding, philosophy, the great outdoors, and for his friends will forever resonate with those who were impacted by him.

A celebration of Tyler will be held on November 10, 2018 at the 4th Street Studio in Grand Forks, BC at 4:00 pm.
