In loving memory ~

Wayne King 81 of Kimberley B.C. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 7th, 2024. Wayne is survived by Margie his loving wife of 59 years. Sons Michael King (Kathy) and their two sons Clayton and Kyle, Richard King, and his daughter Amy Edwards (Lonni Edwards) and sons Caleb Sommer (Sabrina) and Matt Sommer.

He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Ada King, brother Warren King and Mother-in-law Marg Campbell.

Wayne was born in Vernon B.C. and moved to Calgary at a young age. He moved to Kimberley B.C. in 1963 worked as a millwright with Cominco for 33 years until his retirement in 1998. He loved all sports, Hockey being one of them. He played for the Calgary Buffalo Junior organization, and played with the Kimberley Dynamiters for many years. He also played with the East Kootenay Old Timers. He enjoyed coaching minor hockey and even coached his twin boys. He helped many young men achieve their goals in hockey. He played in the Kimberley softball league pitching many games.

He enjoyed curling and had lots of memories with his daughter going to many matches.

He spent a lot of time camping and fishing with family and friends making memories that we all will cherish.

Wayne always put his family first, and was very proud of his 4 grandsons.

He will be sadly missed.
