Apr 25, 1930 - Jan 13, 2018
After a brief illness, Wilma passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. She was 87 years young.

Wilma was born in Cranbrook, BC on April 25, 1930. She moved to Calgary, Alberta after her high school graduation to attend Business School. There, in 1948, she met the love her life, Murray Carry, and they married three years later, on July 7, 1951. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years together until Murray's passing in September 2011.

In 1954 Murray and Wilma returned to Cranbrook where they've resided since. Wilma worked for many years at the Cranbrook Court House, and later with the Cranbrook Health Unit. She retired in the early 80's, and then began her long, selfless service as a volunteer with many different organizations and groups. Wilma had a true zest for life, right until the end. With boundless energy and curiosity, she lived life fully, sharing her beaming smile with all who crossed her path.

She loved music, especially singing, and playing the piano along with several other instruments, and could often be found entertaining residents of area care homes with her volunteer music group. She was passionate about travelling, having visited several countries in North America and Europe, many of those excursions with her daughter by her side. Wilma loved all things living - plants, animals, and also the great outdoors.

She was an avid fisherman, and she especially loved spending time at the lake. Wilma was a loving and generous soul full of fun and laughter, and the best Mom and Grandma anyone could ask for. She will be deeply missed.

Wilma is survived by her loving daughter Wendy Carry (Cullum); son Kevin Carry, grandchildren Ryan Jenkins; Lisa Carry (Lacusta), Lorne Carry Jr., Erin Carry, Kyle Lakatos, and great granddaughter Chance Hardy.

She was predeceased by her husband Murray Carry, her son Lorne Carry, parents William and Viola Wilson, and her brother and sister Irwin and Lois.

A memorial service for Wilma will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook (2200 - 2nd Street South) at 2:00 pm. A light lunch and refreshments will be served immediately following the service in the reception room at McPherson's.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Greg Andreas and the 2nd Floor nursing staff of the EK Regional Hospital for the gentle care and graciousness they offered Wilma and the family during this extremely difficult time.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service.
