KIMBERLEY, BC – For the fifth consecutive year, BC Hydro has supported the Rotary Club of Kimberley by contributing $600 to allow a Kimberley youth to participate in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program at Selkirk College in Castlegar.

The annual week-long leadership development program is available for youth in the East and West Kootenay aged between 18 and 25 years. Through a wide range of workshops and activities participants emerge with new leadership skills and a strong sense of community and social responsibility.

BC Hydro is committed to supporting the development and education of youth through its Community Investment programs. Programs like RYLA help build future leaders and support communities. These future leaders play an important role in the development and growth of our communities.

Through our Donations & Sponsorship Program BC Hydro provides funding and in-kind support to not-for-profit organizations, registered charities and community groups that fit its three funding pillars – Environmental Sustainability, Youth Engagement and Community Leadership – and that share BC Hydro’s business objectives.
