On February 15, 2015 the Cranbrook 4H Multi Club held their public speeches at the College of the Rockies.
The club has 16 members with seven juniors, six seniors and three Cloverbuds. Club speeches are when each junior and senior members present their handwritten speech in front of an audience.
Juniors, ages nine to 12, must have a speech three to five minutes in length and the seniors, ages 13 and over, must have a speech five to seven minutes in length. Seniors must also do an impromptu speech of one to two minutes.
Cloverbuds are between six and eight years old; they don't have to do a speech but can if they wish. The top two juniors and the top two seniors then go on to represent their club at districts.
District speeches is when the top juniors and seniors from other clubs around the area come together to compete again. From there the top three seniors and the top three juniors go on to represent the district at Regionals. The top senior from Regionals will go onto represent our region at Provincials, in June.
District speeches were held Sunday, February 22, at 12:30 p.m. at the Jaffray United Church.
