Dirtbag Fest returns to Kimberley this month.

Dirtbag Fest returns to Kimberley this March 24 and 25 at the Kimberley Conference Centre. The festival is a celebration of the dirtbag lifestyle.

A dirtbag by definition is one  who is willing to sacrifice and drop at a moments notice: their jobs, their family, their income and their homes in search of adventure.

Dirtbag Fest celebrates this with two evenings of story-telling, stunning photograpy and short films, as well as live music and more.

The festival kicks off on Friday, March 24 with Cranbrook artist and musician Dawson Rutledge, who will provide live music from 6 to 7 p.m. during the reception at the Kimberley Conference Center. The curtain goes up to a presentation by alpinist, author and editor of Gripped Magazine, Brandon Pullan. Following the presentation will be the first night of film and slideshow submissions to the Dirtbag Film Festival. The night will wrap up with the Community  Slideshow.

The festival continues Saturday night with live music by Kimberley rockers Hot Muck. Powder Matt Mosteller kicks off night two with a presentation and story telling. The films festival continues with the second group of films and slideshows. The Community Slideshow and prize presentations wrap up Saturday night and this year’s festival.

Sponsors, businesses and a small dedicated group of volunteers and judges ensure that this festival continues to thrive in Kimberley.

The 2017 Dirtbag Festival is not to be missed. Tickets and information are available at www.dirtbagfestival.com and on facebook @dirtbagfestival. Be sure to check them out on instagram @ekdirtbaggery.
