We’re having a party! – A Pool Party! – to celebrate Family Literacy Week.

CBAL (Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy) and Kimberley Aquatic Centre are partnering with the sponsorship of Skookumchuck Pulp Mill, to invite you to an afternoon of free pool time, snacks, and activities, draws, and prizes on Saturday January 28th.

Did you know that parent involvement is the number one predictor of early learning success and future academic achievement? In Kimberley we can celebrate not only parents, but also the involvement of many grandparents and extended family in the lives of our kids.

We are excited to invite everyone to the pool to enjoy a free swim, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.. This is offered in celebration of the importance of families in creating environments in which kids learn to read, write, understand math, problem solve, create, and develop social, emotional and motor skills.

This year our literacy theme focuses on water, H20, and the fun that we can have learning about the importance of water in our lives. There will be an interactive mural, story sharing, quizzes and snacks (provided by Healthy Kimberley) based on the theme of water. Water, as an essential part of life, as a scientific compound and as a great place to play and be with others!

Draw prizes (Beautiful Books) and a Family Punch Pass for 10 swims at the Aquatic Centre!
