Selkirk's Class of 2015 celebrates graduation this weekend.

This weekend Selkirk’s Class of 2015 celebrates graduation, with Prom and Dry Grad on Friday and the ceremony on Saturday at the Civic Centre, 3 p.m.

One of Kimberley’s traditions is the gathering of grads at Cominco Gardens for pictures and an opportunity to show off the prom finery.

In the past couple of years a new tradition has begun — the grad parade through the Platzl, and a chairlift ride up Northstar Mountain.

For those who’d like to catch a look at the class of 2015 in the Platzl, the plan is for students to gather near the Kimberley Public Library at 3 p.m.

They will march through the Platzl to the Bean Tree then back up Deer Park Avenue. They will then gather at the gazebo for photos, and a word from Mayor Don McCormick.

If you do plan to attend the Platzl parade, please bring a folding chair.

Grads will then go up to Cominco Gardens for more photos, then the chairlift ride and then enjoy their prom.
