As the Kimberley Hobos U12 and U10s, two Kootenay Little Legaue teams, travel around the Kootenays, southern Alberta and parts of Montana and Idaho each spring, they often hear comment on their name. What kind of a name is Hobos?, they are often asked.

In fact the Hobos name is a long and storied one in Kimberley baseball history. Today’s Hobos are named after the Hobo team from the 1950s. The team, sponsored by Chris Sorensen, won the East Kootenay and Kootenay championship in 1957.

Today’s Hobos finished up their season with a great showing at the Kalispel Firecrackers Tournament July 4 to 6.

Kootenay Little League is open to all kids to join from both Cranbrook and Kimberley.  The house league season runs from late March until early June. For more information on Kootenay Little League or the HOBOS All Star program please contact Mike Reid at 250-427-1788 or David Bird at 250-432-5798.
