Local amateur sports groups benefit from Winter Games Legacy Fund

The Kimberley Community Foundation handed out funds from its Winter Games Legacy Fund this week. The Winter Games funds are earmarked specifically for amateur sports organizations in Kimberley and surrounding area.

In addition, to giving $500 to the Kimberley Sea Horse Swim Club, the Foundation handed out  $795 grant to Kimberley Gymnastics, $700 to Kimberley/Cranbrook Special Olympics and $2,005 for East Kootenay Adaptive Snow Sports.

The Foundation accepts donations, bequests and gifts from individuals and corporations to create permanent endowment funds which support a wide variety of community projects through grants to charities. The Foundation supports organizations that work in many fields including the arts, culture, sport, environment, health and education.
