The Alberta Family Day holiday occurs on Monday and as always, Kimberley will see a lot of friendly faces from Alberta this weekend.

For the second year in a row, local merchants hope to take advantage of the high numbers of visitors at the ski hill by taking their products directly to them.

The Kimberley Winter Market will open at the Kimberley Conference and Athlete Training Centre at noon this Sunday, February 16.

Dave Clark, who is helping to organize the market for Meet Kimberley says that it’s a sell out with all 60 booths sold.

“The vendors are pretty much all local with a few from Cranbrook and Invermere,” Clark said. “The idea is to capture Alberta Family Day visitors, but we’d really like locals to come up and check it out as well.

“Last year went very well and we’re hoping for the same or better this year.”

There will be an ATM available at the market.

Admission is free and the Market runs from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday.
