Santa visits the Platzl this Saturday evening.

The Christmas season in Kimberley officially starts when the Platzl lights up. This year that takes place this Saturday evening, November 21.

Come down to the Platzl for 6 p.m.,or even earlier and have dinner. At 6 the Kimberley Choir will be performing seasonal favourites.

At 6:30 p.m. sharp, the lights go on.

And right after that, at 6:35 p.m. Santa arrives. Pictures with Santa are complementary from the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce.

Many stores will be open in the downtown area for Christmas shopping. The Kootenay Dance Academy will be raising money with a hot chocolate and bake sale in front of their location in the Platzl.

As Christmas is the season of giving, donations to the Helping Hands Food Bank will be gratefully accepted during the evening.

This is a great evening for families, especially with young children, so come down to the Platzl and join the fun.
