JulyFest is more than bocce, soccer, parades, concerts and class reunions — although those events make up a lot of the weekend’s fun.
But if you’re of a mind to get a little exercise as well as partying, you might want to sign up for the annual JulyFest run.
Sponsored by the Kootenay Orienteering Club, the five and ten K races will get off to an early 8 a.m. start to beat the heat. A special kids race starts at 8:10 a.m. leaving plenty of time to catch the parade at 10:30 a.m.
Check in and registration begin at 7:15 a.m. at the Nature Park’s Swan Avenue entrance.
Pre-register on-line (preferred), at the Kimberley Chamber of Commerce office. or on the morning of the 20th at Swan Ave.
All proceeds will be donated to the Kimberley Trails Society for chainsaw training. KNPS memberships will be available for purchase on the day. Only $5. Register now, pay on the day.
