9th annual Turkey Runoff in Kimberley

The 9th annual Turkey Runoff Showshoe event, held December 29th in Lois Creek Trails, was a big success. The event is hosted by the Kootenay Orienteering Club. There were 60 participants, including volunteers.

In the Male Solo event Chris Bullock came in first with 14 points at a time of 1:04:14. In second was David Howe with 14 points at a time of 1:30:14.

In the Female Solo event, Eileen Charles came is first with 14 points at a time of 1:06:03 and Andree Powers was in second with 14 points at a time of 1:11:22. In third was Jule Ahlborn with 14 points at a time of 1:30:33.

In the Family/Team event, Gerry & The Daughters came in first with 14 points at a time of 56:17. In second was Jon Kittle and Aven Jowitt Kittle with 14 points at a time of 59:05. In third was the Wiedemann Men with 14 points at a time of 1:29:28.

Jim Webster organized the event, while registration was handled by volunteers from the Cranbrook Girl Guides.
