The Cranbrook Bandits dropped three of four contests during tournament play in Libby, Mont., this past weekend.

The Bandits opened the annual Libby tournament with a 12-2 loss to the Mission Valley ‘A’ Mariners before dropping a 10-1 decision to the Coeur d’Alene Loggers on Friday.

In their lone Saturday outing, the Bandits claimed their only victory of the weekend with an 8-7 triumph over the Strathmore Reds.

Sunday afternoon, the Bandits closed out the weekend with a 20-5 loss to the Tri-County Cardinals.

Veteran right-hander Devon Marra (3-2, 2.37 ERA) earned the win over the Reds after 4.1 innings of work.

Right-hander Rylan D’Etcheverry (0-0, 1.11 ERA) went one inning strong, striking out two batters, en route to the save.

The Reds and Bandits went back and forth over six innings.

Heading into the final inning tied 5-5, the Bandits scored three runs in the top of the frame, including a two-run jack from Marra that scored Noah Rennette.

The Reds pushed back, bring two across the plate in the bottom of the inning, but Marra’s homer stood tall.

Marra (.420/.473/.700) went 3-for-4 at the plate, with a single and a double in addition to his two-run blast.

In Sunday’s 20-5 loss to the Cardinals, the Bandits held a 5-1 lead after three innings before giving up four runs in the top of the fifth.

A 15-run sixth inning for the Cardinals ended the game.

Next up, the Bandits travel to Polson, Mont., this weekend, with games schedule for July 1 to 5.
