Koootenay Ice forward Tim Bozon's condition remains critical, but stable and improving at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Bozon is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a coma, but doctors are now working to slowly wake him. His family has indicated that he has responded to verbal stimuli.
Bozon was admitted to hospital on March 1st and diagnosed with Neisseria meningitis while the Kootenay Ice were on a three-game road trip through Saskatchewan.
Due to enquiries from individuals and organizations wanting to make donations to the family, the WHL establishing a trust fund to help with medical and insurance costs as insurance coverage is limited. Further details regarding the trust fund will be released by the league later this week.
Bozon's parents, Helene and Philippe Bozon, joined him in Saskatoon the day after he was hospitalized, flying in from Europe to be with their son.
They have been overwhelmed by the emails and social media messages from people around the world showing support for Bozon. The family is very appreciative and will respond through the Saskatoon Health Region in the near future.
Bozon has 30 goals and 32 assists in 50 games for the Kootenay Ice this year. He is a signed third-round 2012 draft pick of the Montreal Canadians.
