Kimberley Dynamiter Parker Konneke, the 2004-born forward from West Kelowna, has committed to play for the Okanagan Lakers of the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League for the 2024/25 season.
“Parker was an elite offensive forward in our league, with only two players in the KIJHL scoring more goals than him last season,” said Derek Stuart, head coach, general manager. “He was a huge contributor to our offence and power-play. We want to thank Parker for his time and commitment to the organization and wish him good luck at UBC-O.”
Konneke was a force to be reckoned with in his one season with the Nitros, with 56 points in 38 regular season games. His 27 goals put him third overall in the KIJHL.
“The organization is second to none with its competitive nature and commitment to players,” Konneke said.”I am very thankful to have been able to play for such a prestigious hockey club and to have lived in such a beautiful place.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Lakers organization,” he continued. “University hockey has always been a dream of mine and having the chance to play for my hometown team makes it even more special.”
