East Kootenay Regional Midget Ice win in Kimberley

The East Kootenay Regional Midget Ice, based in Kimberley, saw their first tournament action this past weekend, taking part in a Calgary Tier 1 tournament at the Kimberley Civic Centre. It was a successful weekend for the Midget Ice as they won the tournament.

The East Kootenay Regional Midget Ice took part in a Calgary Tier 1 Tournament this past week held at the Kimberley Civic Centre.

The East Kootenay Regional Midget Ice, based in Kimberley, saw their first tournament action this past weekend, taking part in a Calgary Tier 1 tournament at the Kimberley Civic Centre. It was a successful weekend for the Midget Ice as they won the tournament.

On Friday, they defeated McKnight 8 - 4; on Saturdasy they beat Bow Valley 3 - 2 and tied Crowfoot 2 - 2.

They faced the Bow Valley Bruins on Sunday in the Finals.

It was a third period comeback for the EK Ice who were down 4-1 after two. With five unanswered third period goals from Cam Reid, Sam Daprocida, Carter Spring, Braiden Koran and an empty netter from Johnny Postlethwaite with .16 sec left to secure the win.
