If it’s the heart of a Canadian winter, it must be bonspiel time. The Kimberley Curling Club is celebrating its 100th anniversary and one of the must attend events is the annual Snow Fiesta Bonspiel.

Teams from Kimberley, the East Kootenay, Alberta and the U.S. competed in the four event classic.

The winning teams in each category were:

“A” Winners: Team Brannigan (Julie, Greg, Renae, Tom)

“B” Winners: Team Jenkins (Nicole, Mark, Robin, Gord)

“C” Winners: Team Jarvis (Sue, Kevin, Wendy, Blair)

The “D” Winners category featured outstanding performances from multiple teams:

Alberta Clippers (Val, Charles, Tamara, Kevin)

Team Erickson (Sheena, Mike, Sylvia, Murray)

Team Gray (Eva, Darren, Michelle, Andy)

Throughout the bonspiel, teams engaged in friendly banter and shared laughter both on and off the ice, reinforcing the strong sense of community that makes this event truly special.

Beyond the thrill of competition, the Snow Fiesta Bonspiel underscored a robust community focus. Local businesses played a crucial role by sponsoring the event, contributing to its success and showcasing the town’s unwavering support for winter sports. Volunteers, embodying the collaborative spirit of Kimberley, ensured a successful bonspiel.

Bonspiel organizers thank them all.
