The Kimberley Gymnastics Club was host to their 9th Annual Coconut Cup Gymnastics Meet on June 2 and 3rd, 2018. The meet was held at McKim School and had the most number of gymnasts ever registered for this fun event, at 260 gymnasts.

Families and gymnasts came from nine clubs in the Kootenay region, including Cranbrook,Trail, Nelson, Castlegar, Fernie, Creston, Invermere, Golden, and Kimberley; plus three clubs from Alberta; Okotoks, Lethbridge and Taber.

The event features a Hawaiian theme, with gymnasts, coaches and judges dressed in grass skirts, flowered leis, and more. Thirty coaches and 18 judges also attended the event. Mayor Don McCormick visited to give out awards, and the Technical Director of Gymnastics BC, Andree Montreuil attended as our Chief Judge.

The Kimberley Club volunteers and staff worked to make the meet a fantastic success, moving all the clubs equipment over to the school, providing fabulous meals for everyone at the meet, and making the event really fun for every visitor!
