Marysville Daze, a family-friendly annual event held on the first weekend of June by the Mark Creek Lions Club, was a huge success this year, with record-breaking crowds enjoying a fun-filled day and beautiful weather.

The Lions took to Facebook to say they were “blown way” by this year’s massively successful event and said they were “shocked to have record numbers and run out of breakfast sausage by 10:15.”

“This means we are getting busier and next year we’ll have more of everything,” They said. “We are so grateful to our amazing community for their support.”

This year’s event featured a huge market, with 303 Street lined with vendors and food trucks. The local Pathfinders were responsible for the pancake breakfast and certainly had their work cut out for them this year, and it was much appreciated by all.

The Lions commended all the volunteers who braved the icy waters of the dunk tank, including Mayor Don McCormick and City Councillor Steven Royer.

Music was provided by the Kimberley Community Band and the Kimberley Pipe Band, accompanied by the Highland Dancers.

JAXaudio was behind the turntables as well, set up in the beer gardens that Marysville Pub hosted. Marysville Pub also supports the lions by housing the Lions Clubhouse and funding their meat draws every Saturday.

The Club also gave a huge thanks to all of their dedicated volunteers who make this annual event such a huge success year after year.
